This is to be expected, since it had only been seven years since Fat Man and Little Boy ended World War II. I just don't buy into it when the *writing* is chaotic (or dense to the point of being a quasi-technical manual, yawn,) especially when the words themselves convolute any story *cough*bruce sterling*cough*. ;) I am hoping, however, now that cyberpunk has a couple of decades under its genre belt, that more literary treatments of the core concepts will find their way into print.
